50 + WALKING GROUP

(January 23rd - April 3rd 2003 )

A BEAUTIFUL day on the 23rd January gave us a good start to the 2003 walks and we headed for Stonehaven. We walked along the seafront, Broad Walk and round the harbour area. Avery pleasant outing.

Our next walk should have been on the 6th February but the weather was rather nasty so we cancelled it. We can get soaked in Culter while shopping if we must go out!

February 20th and we travelled to Kemnay where we had morning coffee before walking by the river and through the Monymuskm policies prior to a walk at Castle Fraser which is always a pleasant outing.

March already, and our next venture was to the Gourdon area, up The Lang Rig to Benhoim Mill and back to the village where several of our members purchased lovely fresh fish.

Glen Tanar on Deeside was the 20th March outing and we had excellent weather and of course beautiful scenery. Spring is on the way! We have been so lucky this month weather-wise. Long may it continue.

Dunecht Estates gave us permission to walk the Hill 0’ Fare on the 3rd April. A beautiful day, but the path a bit steep! Are some of us feeling our age?

I would like to thank all those who enquired about me during

my stay in hospital and since I came home, and for keeping me in the picture where and when the walks turned out. I do miss being with the group and hope to be back with them soon. Thanks again.
