P.T.A.

THE first term of the year seems to have passed in a flash. We had some very successful fundraising events starting with a local history talk, 'The Deeside Trek' by Norman Marr. This was held at St Peter! s Heritage Centre which also gave the audience an opportunity to look round the interesting photographs, books and artefacts at the Centre. An excellent beer tasting with fish & chips to follow was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants and the health & beauty themed evening in late November was also well attended with speakers on Pilates exercise, osteoporosis and a demonstration  from   Aristacut hairdressing salon on some glamorous hairstyles for Christmas.

The main event for the spring term is the School Sale to be held on Saturday, 23rd March.  This is the major fundraising event of the year for the school. Every household in Culter will receive a flyer with details of the kind of items we take e.g. books, toys, bric-a-brac, raffle prizes, homebaking etc. The local community has always supported the school very well in coming along to the sale and donating articles so we look forward to another successful day on 23 March.

This new term started with the sad news that our head teacher, Christine Compton, is leaving in March to go and live in China. We are all very disappointed to be losing Mrs Compton who has worked tirelessly with the staff over the last six years, raising Culter School's profile to make it one of the most highly regarded primary schools in Aberdeenshire. We would like to thank Mrs Compton for all her hard work and to wish her well in her new life in China.
