50+ WALKING GROUPOctober 31 to January 2003WE
went back up Deeside for another lovely walk via Invercauld, with snow on
the hills now, and beautiful views being
enjoyed by all who were able to walk.
We still have a good turn out Our next outing date was on 28th November but as most of us had accepted an invitation to lunch at the Aberdeen Cricket Club, organised by Bon Accord 50 + Group, we went by service bus and had a very enjoyable few hours. December
12th was our Christmas lunch
and we had that in The Mill Inn across
the The following is how we feel about a walk we had in January 2002. ELLON TO AUCHNAGATT - OLD RAILWAY LINE 1. It was tackled in style very early In the year Two Thousand and Two And some came home nearly frozen While others I believe almost blue The gale was so strong, a real killer With hailstones as big as a pea Being pelted with these was not funny Blown around, off your feet - not for me! 2. The old railway line from Ellon To the place they call Auchnagatt Is wintry and dreary and dismal Some adjectives stronger than that The weather was near to "ABYSMAL" So walkers who like to be free Give this place a miss or be sorry Change your rota in Two Thousand and Three. 3. All walkers like out in the country. To ramble and chatter and see All the wonders of nature God gives us At the shore or behind Bennachie. In Deeside we have all the forests With flora and fauna galore So listen my friends, pay attention Auchnagatt will see us no more! Who am I to complain? I was in the Eye Clinic A.R.I, that day Lucky me! Betty C. (Culter) 397
We, the 50 + Walkers of Culter, wish all, good health and sunny days in 2003
