PETERCULTER MEDICAL PRACTICE

A few rather Spring-like days recently tends to encourage anticipation of the new season, amid possibly a trip to the travel agent! If you are planning to go abroad this summer, please contact the surgery early to arrange an appointmentto discuss your vaccination requirements. You will be required to fill out a form in advance of your appointment, detailing your itinerary, so that you can be given the appropriate advice and the relevant immunisations organised.

The practice would like to thank the Aberdeen branch of the British Heart Foundation (chairman Mr George Buckenham) for their generous fundraising efforts, enabling us to acquire a new state-of-the-art electrocardiograph machine - this is used in the assessment of possible heart problems and will be a useful addition to our various diagnostic instruments.

The practice is poised to begin work on a new major quality venture known as Practice Accreditation. This is basically in line with the medical profession generally being more accountable for the work we do, and being able to prove that we are achieving and maintaining high standard s of quality in all aspects of the service we provide. We will have our official assessment for this in Spring 2004, so there is some hard but useful work ahead, and the team is fully committed to this project.
