PETERCULTER PARISH CHURCH

EASTER is the key season in the Christian year. It is because of what happened at that first Easter that the Christian Church began in the first place! We begin to reflect on the events of Christ's' final week in Jerusalem with our Palm Sunday Family Service on April 13th and on April 20th we celebrate the resurrection with an outdoor service at 9.30a.m. at the field beside St Peter's Heritage Centre and an Easter Day Service of Celebration at  11.00 a.m.in the church.

On Friday 25th April, a Scottish Parliament Election Forum will take place in the church when it is hoped that all the local candidates will be able to attend to discuss the issues

We welcome back the Glasgow Phoenix Choir on Saturday 12th April at 7p.m. The last time they came, the church was packed and it was a brilliant performance. We also look forward to welcoming back the Soloists of St Petersburg on Sunday 4th May at 7.00p.m.in the church. The last time they were hear, along with everyone else, I was inspired by their beautiful music. These are both evenings well worth coming along to. Nearer the time, tickets can be purchased from the church office, phone 735845.

Our Wednesday evening services at 7p.m., and Thursday 11.30a.rn services continue as usual, with tea, coffee and home baking being available on Thursdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. -12noon.

The church has recently purchased a video projector from money given to us in a legacy. This has allowed us to enhance our worship by projecting graphics, photographs, songs and video on to a large screen. Worship can sometimes be too wordy and the use of visual images to help us reflect on God's glory and to communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ has been a positive step forward. The equipment also can be used for other events such as conferences, meetings etc.

John Ferguson.
