47th CULTER BOYS' BRIGADE COMPANY

ENTERING a new year, the 47th are looking forward to a fun-packed season ahead. The boys are being kept busy during their Thursday evening meetings taking part in various Badge Work programmes and team building exercises. The Pipe Band will be attending the usual major and local competitions which will see them visiting Dumbarton, Glasgow Green, Pitlochry and Dunoon during the summer months. This year will also see the Pipe Band return to Troon in April for the annual Scottish Boys' Brigade Bands contest.

Fundraising will soon be re-starting to keep the organisation running smoothly financially with a planned Car Wash and Gentlemen's Dinner already in the 'pipeline7 - more details will be announced soon.

Our regular newsletter 'Four Seven' is in circulation full of all the BB and Band's news. If you would like to be included in the mailing list, please contact either any BB Officer or leave your details online at 47culterbb.com.

This year will see the Pipe Band travel to Orkney again to take part in the

Stromness Shopping Week. The Band has been invited to this festival many times before and members are looking forward to the ferry journey up on Saturday 19th July for a week's excellent hospitality from the Orcadians.

Plans for our annual Summer Camp are already under way, where theboys will enjoy similar activities as last year along with some extra surprises! Camp dates are as follows:-

Advance Weekend (Old Boys) - Friday 4th July - Sunday 6th July

Seniors Week - Monday 7th July -Thursday 10th July

Boys Week - Thursday 10th July - Thursday 17th July

Visitors Sunday - Sunday 13th July. This years Boys Camp is Thursday to Thursday because of the Pipe Band attending the Stromness Shopping Week on the Saturday 19th (allowing boys and parents time to wash clothes and catch up with sleep!).

Please check local press and our website for our up-to-date list of fundraisers, some of which we hope you will be able to support.

Best Wishes

Mike Findlay  (Company Captain)
