ROYAL ABERDEEN

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL -

1923 TO 2003

AS you will probably have heard, the current Children's Hospital closes its doors in December 2003, with a move to a new hospital on 14 December 2003 . A group of Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital employees, past and present, has come together to commemorate the existing buildings and mark its place in history. The aim of the group is to collect memorabilia in the form of photographs, individual items of interest and stories - happy, sad, funny or sentimental - to ensure the unique identity and character of Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital is not lost.

To mark this occasion, we have planned a Commemorative Badge, which will be given to each member of staff working in the hospital on the closure date. We also are planning to produce a Commemorative Book, a 2004 calendar and to hold an Open Day so that the general public may have a chance to view the hospital before it closes.

If anyone has memories they would wish to share, please send them to Kathleen McGregor, Secretary Commemorative Group, Royal Children's Hospital, Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen AB25 2ZG
