ST PETER'S HERITAGE TRUSTIT
is always nice to promote our patch. Peterculter
is what I am talking about. Congratulations to the Rev John Ferguson and Still on promoting our Peterculter, on Saturday 14 September St Peter's Heritage Centre was one of the venues taking part in 'Doors Open Day'. Again we were promoting Peterculter. The day was a great PR exercise. I reckon we should be rightly proud of our display, which Violet Smith put in place in a truly professional manner. Well done, Violet! Thanks too, to Callum, Sheila, John, Mary and all who contributed to making the day a great success - not forgetting Hilda Reid, May Stuart and Susan Chalmers who provided tea, coffees, etc. in the Heritage Hall. Mr Arthur McFarlane put the icing on the cake by playing the pipe organ almost for the duration of the viewing time. Those who walk along the river path will have seen the work we have done in repairing and repainting the Heritage Hall and the Heritage Centre over recent months. John Mearns and I have spent quite a few hours on the outside while the Hall Committee (John Troup, Wayne Billsborrow, John Kelman and Violet Smith) have done a marvellous job to the inside. There is still work to be done 'up-a-been' outside but this is too high for John and Me. HELP! Tea and coffee can now be had in the Heritage
Hall on Saturdays and Sundays ( We hope to have the following events in
the near future: Concert, Silent Auction and
evening of Music and Verse. Our
Christmas Fayre is on Saturday 14
December ( Other ideas I'd love to develop are Calligraphy, Flower Arranging, Writing Group. If anyone is interested in any of these - or have ideas of their own -please give me a call. Enquiries on Hall lets, please contact John Troup. Allan Pennie Chairman |
