GALA 2003

IT'S time to start making plans for next year! The AGM of the Gala Committee will take place on Thursday 21 November at the Pop-in at 7.30pm .

All village groups, who normally take part in Gala activities, are asked to send a representative. If anyone else 'out there' has ideas they would like to see implemented - or constructive suggestions - please come along and lend your support to the meeting and the Committee.

GALA FUNDS

ONE or two groups missed the deadline for requests from Gala Funds. CCC realises that this was done earlier than in previous years but it was featured in the August issue of the Courier + reminders were given to several groups!

The September deadline was introduced so that the money could be dispersed as soon as possible and it allowed CCC's accounts to be finalised before the annual audit.

Groups benefiting this year are: Scouts, BBs (including Pipe Bands), OAPs, CASKET, Culter Horticultural Society, Culter Boys Football Club, Pop-in Committee, Peterculter Parish Church (outdoor lights for Christmas), Church Junior Choir and the Village Hall. It was felt that these covered quite a large amount of people in Culter, both young and old, and others would benefit, too.

The total amount of money disbursed was £1,700 and, as usual, a certain sum is left in Gala funds to enable the next Gala to 'start up'.
