CULTER FOOTBALL CLUB

Goals Galore: Culter recorded its highest ever win since joining the Junior FA in 1987. We beat Maud 16-0 at Maud, on Saturday 17 August 2002 , on our way to winning Section 1 of the Grill League Cup. In doing so, another Club record was created by the solo performance of our prolific goal-scorer, Neil Ritchie, who hit a treble hat-trick in our stunning win. Neil's nine-goal feat will be difficult to surpass!

Dons Defeated: In the start-of season Friendly Match, Culter pulled .off 3 notable victory by beating and Aberdeen FC XI, at Crombie Park , 12-0 on Wednesday 28 August. In the first half, goals from Duncan Ore! and in the second half by Greg Davidson g^ve us a deserved win over the young Dons.

Premier Position: On a wet, windy Saturday 12 October, Culter pulled off a notable away win by beating the then leaders FC Stoneywood 4-2 at Polo Park . At this time, it put Culter in pole Premier position over our opponents on goal difference. Our scorers were Neil McRitchie (2), Greg Davidson and Scott Brown.

Dinner Date: We are holding our 17th Annual Celebrity Dinner at the same venue - the Dyce Skean Dhu - on Friday 15 November. The event features Paul Fletcher (one of the UK's foremost After Dinner Speakers), Rudi Vfest(top Club Comic) and it is again compered by Jimmy Wilson.

50 Years Ago: The club obviously was having difficulties with funids in 1952. Extracts from the Minutes of a Meeting on 10 August 1952 , are reproduced below:-

As A Allan had a particularly good pair of football boots to sell for £1, it was decided to purchase them for the Club.

• Owing to the heavy cost for the laundry of jerseys, it was decided that players would be responsible for the cleanliness of their own kit.

As the Club was running short of white pants, it was decided to contact Thom's Bakery for flour bags. Mr Fowler stated his wife would be quite willing to make them.

A Culter Team around that time is pictured with the line-up as follows:

Back Row: R Holmes, A Grant, D Ewen, P Watt, W Smith, J Brown

Front Row: D Forbes, B Ogilvie, J Stephen, A Gray, A Milne

John Brown and Derek Forbes are regular supporters at present day home games.
