CULTS CRICKET CLUBSEASON 2002 is now history. Roll on season 2003. How did Cults do in 2002? It has to be said a very creditable showing all round. 1st XI - SCU Small Clubs Cup - Runners up, denied by a slower run rate in another rain affected game V Largo at Dundee. Aberdeenshire Cup - Winners, magnificent bowling performance by the club captain Paul Upjohn, v Bon-Accord. Grade 1 - Runners up to Bon-Accord. Grade 1 Batsman - Bryan Alexander. 2nd XI - Reid Cup - Runners up, v Inverurie. Grade 3 - 3rd. Grade 3 Batsman - that well known Culter loon Eddie Spearman. Season 2002 was wet. When it wasn't a monsoon it was merely raining. It was arguably the wettest season that your humble scribe has ever played in. There has to be a touch of lunacy in one's makeup to play cricket in Aberdeenshire - anyone who has played for, or watched, Cults CC will probably agree with that statement. More lunatics are required for Cults CC - all ages and abilities are catered for. All we ask is a keen interest in this wonderful game of cricket. Please visit our website for indoor nets and coaching. Dates will be posted on once they are finalised. Many thanks to all Cults CC players, groundsmen and supporters for their sterling services in season 2002 and all sponsors for their generous donations.
