BROADBANDDO you live in the areas served by the Culter or Bieldside telephone exchanges and would you like to have a high-speed broadband Internet connection for your home or office computer? Broadbandwould give you an Internet connection up to 10 times faster than a normal one as well as a telephone connection that you can use at the same time. BT has earmarked both the Culter and Bieldside telephone exchanges for possible upgrade to broadband. However there is a little-publicised catch. They won't do this unless there is a sufficient expression of interest and they determine what that might be. For Culter they require 400 and for Bieldside 350 telephone subscribers to register such an interest and at the time of writing only 147 Culter and 141 Bieldside ones had done so. Hence if you would like broadband Internet in your home or office then you must let BT know and you can find how to do this by logging on to www.bt.com/broadband and following the instructions there. Please consider doing so as soon as possible. BT have been dragging their heels over broadband for some years now but if they receive the required number of registrations then at least there is no excuse for further delay. |
