EASTLEIGH NURSING HOME

AT the time of writing this, I am looking   out   at   atrocious weather conditions and the thought of our residents not being able to enjoy their weekly bus run makes me sad.   They all enjoy their outings immensely, especially when they are treated to an ice-cream cone during the trip to Aberdeen Beach , Stonehaven, Banchory or Inverurie.

Since my last entry in the Courier, we can now announce that we have a new Deputy Matron. Sheila Wood started in post on Monday 21 October and will, we are sure, be a great asset to the home.

Weekly entertainment, as usual, is very popular and we have had a great variety to offer our residents. Hallowe'en has just passed and now we are approaching an interesting time with St Andrew's Night and, of course, Christmas. This is a busy but exciting time in Eastleigh 's life.

Since summer, we've had a Cheese and Wine Party, a Family Quiz and soon we will be holding our Silent Auction, which has proved very popular. All these events generate much-needed funds for the residents. Most of this money will be swallowed up during Christmas so we can give our residents a great time.

Already we have arranged to go to a Pantomime, a special Christmas lunch and Sing-a-long in Banchory plus various trips to see the Christmas lights.

Very soon I will be selling raffle tickets for our Bumper Christmas Draw. If you wish to purchase any tickets, please visit the home. I can assure you there are WONDERFUL PRIZES.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
