CAMPHILL SCHOOL NEWS
UNDOUBTEDLY, the highlights of the last term were around
the anniversary
of the birth of our
founder Dr Karl Koing.
Celebrations began
with our annual Open Day on the Saturday during the September
holiday weekend. Without question it was the most successful
yet with hundreds of visitors to Camphill
Estate keeping away the rain and
enjoying the many activities that
were on offer.
New this year was
story telling by one of our co-workers who recently completed
the first part of his speech training. This was followed later in the week by a number of international guests
visiting from the Camphill and Anthroposophical movement, (the movement
which gives a home to the philosophy out of which Camphill works).
These guests came and shared their perspective of our work and
to talk about the challenges that face us as we look
towards the future.
The 10 day long
celebration was concluded on Konig's Birthday with, in
the first part of the morning, a School Pageant on the theme of Noah's
Ark
, in which all our pupils
had a part. To conclude our celebrations,
there was lunch with a Civic Reception at the Town House when
many old friends from near and far could meet together in celebration
of the life and work of Konig.
Now as we look forward to the Winter term with
the warmth and light of Advent and Christmas
at its end, we wish to
send seasonal wishes to you all and to thank you for the support you have given
us during 2002.
