47TH CULTER

BOYS-BRIGADE COMPANY

WE are now a couple of months into the BB session and our Thursday evenings are again proving to be very busy. Anchor Boys, Junior Section and Company Section are all taking part in their various badgework programmes including First Aid, Drawing and Community Work. The Company Section also has been fortunate to receive help from ex-BB boys Sean Malone and Mark Milne constructing Bird Tables and Bird Boxes as part of their Craft Badge.

Last month we held a Barn Dance at Oldtown Farm, which was a great success, not only raising funds for the organisation but also hosting our End-of-Season Party for our Pipe Band.

The Pipe Band is now busy practising during these winter months for another hectic Pipe Band season ahead of them next Summer, which includes a major contest to be held in Belgium .

47th Fundraising

2003 Calendars will be available very soon. Please check local shops around the village for further information on them. We are also running a Christmas Catalogue to raise funds for the Pipe Band - please contact Margaret Anderson  for more details. We are hoping to organise the boys to participate in Bag Packing closer to Christmas, again to boost our funds. The 'Friends of the 47th' have organised a Boxing Night on Friday 29th November at Culter Mills Club - for tickets please contact Bob Grant or John Baxter.

Bill and Joan Findlay have organised their Old Tyme Dance (now an annual event) for Pipe Band funds on Friday 6th December at Culter Mills Club. Please contact  for tickets.

There are still spaces available in each of the three sections for anyone interested in joining. Either come along to Culter School on a Thursday evening, contact me  for more details or, submit your details online 47culterbb.com.

Best Wishes Mike Findlay

(Company Captain)
