PETERCULTER GOLF CLUBAT the beginning of September 2001, Mr Colin Forbes took over as the Head Greenkeeper at Peterculter Golf Club. Since his arrival, the new holes have finally been opened and were in play for the Mixed Open on 23 September. Initial reactions from both members and visitors were extremely positive. The new holes make the course less physically demanding in that golfers no longer have to hike up the steep hill to the 14th green, and then take the precarious track down again to the 16th tee. However there are now some stunning views over the River Dee by St Peter's Church, and two new short but testing par threes. Overall, the changes made to the course are a great improvement and will ensure that Peterculter golf course becomes one of the nicest courses in the area. However there is still work to be done on the new holes, and this will be carried out over the coming months. At present, the waiting list to join the club is quite short, so if you are interested in becoming a member then now is the time to sign up.
