CULTS CRICKET CLUBSEASON 2001 in now a distant and soggy memory. We finished playing at the beginning of September and all in all it was a reasonably successful season. The lst XI retained the Grade 1 title, though by only a margin of 1% over our great rivals Bon Accord. The major disappointment of season 2001 was losing the SCU Small Clubs Cup Final to Fauldhouse Victoria -not enough runs scored on the day. The Aberdeenshire Cup was another early exit, this year at the hands of Bon Accord in a very high scoring game at the links. At least we got past the lst round this year. The 2nd XI completed the league and cup double, a feat they have not achieved for 10 years. They only lost one game, winning the remainder comprehensively. The Juniors are improving rapidly with, for season 2002, an expansion into league cricket will take place. Kwik cricket will continue as well as an under 13 side. It is hoped that Clarence Parfiit will be able to attend Peterculter Primary during the winter for coaching. Cults C.C. is now is semi-hibernation until April 2002. For winter developments please consult our web site. Any players, regardless of age and ability and who wish to play cricket, please contact me below.
