AT
THE end of April, the Heritage Centre had a most successful weekend to
mark the anniversary of the closing of the Culter Mill- many farmer
employees visited the centre and shared memories of their working lives.
The special exhibition of the Mill is still running; postcards of the
mill have been reproduced showing what was an important part of Culter
but is no longer with us.
It also was goad to be able to host the Arts and Crafts Exhibition as
part of the Culter Gala programme hopefully this will take place again
in 2007 and more people will be encouraged to take part in the
exhibition. Obviously there is a lot of talent in Culter.
As always, the Trust is
keen to receive any articles relating to Culter as this helps the
committee to continually show more aspects of Culter life, past and
present. Items can be donated to the Trust or given on loan. Numerous
visitors have commented on the wide range of interesting exhibits we
already have on display and, if this can be increased, it all goes to
help maintain Culter's heritage. - past, present and future.
The Hall has recently
acquired 80 new upholstered stacking chairs thanks to an Teas/coffees
are served every Saturday & Sunday from 2-4pm and You will be made most
welcome. Over recent months some of our valued volunteer tea ladies have
retired and our thanks to them for their contribution. Fortunately a
number of new volunteers have come forward but we stilt need more.
