IT doesn't seem long since the last
issue of the Culter Courier, but the Dee-Ciders have had four walks. We
managed to fit in three walks in May, one in the Durris area, and two in
Upper Deeside - one from Inverey to a lovely spot between the Cristie
and Connie Burns, and the other to Mortlich Hill, Aboyne, when the
farmer advised us of an easier ascent than we had intended.
At the time of writing, we are the
midst of a heat-wave and although on each of three May walks the weather
was not exactly brilliant it was not unkind, so we had enjoyable walks.
Our last walk before breaking far summer was on 13th June to the
Shooting Greens at Finzean - a shortish walk followed by buffet picnic
lunch courtesy of one of our members (thanks). Now that was a brilliant
day in all ways - walk, weather, food, fun and company, We could not
have asked for better, but all good things have to end, so with shouts
of `Have a good holiday' we parted company for a few weeks.
On 8th
August, hopefully all refreshed and raring to go, we head for Millstone
Hill (Bennachie) to begin our new programme.
