LIKE many, I am sure, I was
extremely shocked to learn of the dire financial straits of the village
hall. It seems bizarre that a community that is awash with 4 x 4s,
professional people and affluent homeowners cannot support this vital
asset.
Can I suggest that every household
in Culter contributes a minimum" of £2, the price of a Cappuccino, to
the hall's funds. This would be entirely voluntary ...no administrations
costs incurred... but would be repeated every year.
Given the response the Culter in
Bloom group appear to have been given, just far the asking, it is
obvious that there is a common, but latent, will to enhance our
surroundings. Most people will agree that it is essential that the hall
exists as a focus for our groups and meetings and for our children to
play together.
It must be supported.
