Culter Football Club

Champions Culter: Culter clinched the Super League Championship for a remarkable 3rd consecutive year with a resounding 6-0 win over Fraserburgh United at Crombie Park on 13 May to spark scenes of sheer delight following the final whistle. For good measure, Culter won 3-0 against runners-up Formartine United at Pitmedden in our last league of the season to win the title 8 points clear.

Annual Awards: The Dick Brown Memorial Trophy, presented annually to the member who has done most for the Club over the past season, was won by Assistant Team Manager Lee O'Brien. He joined us as a player in 2001 and we were pleased to retain his services in Team Management in which he has done a great job. Player of the Year - Larry Barclay Trophy - was won by Kyle Scott. Kyle, in his first season with Culter, was signed as a striker but reverted to defence. He was outstanding in this role - a tower of strength throughout our successful season.

Morrison Milestone: Senior Committee Member, Gordon i4iorrison, completed 40 years service on Culter FC’s Committee in June 2006. Gordon has given excellent services over all these years and is still invaluable in his work as Lottery Treasurer and with his words of wisdom at our Committee Meetings. Gordon was a former Culter FC Player in the 1950s and served on the Committee since 1966 in a variety of capacities including being Club President from 1969/70 to 1976/77. He was surprised at our Season-end Social Evening by being presented with a bottle of Gordon Highlanders Whisky.

Committee Changes: We were disappointed at our Annual General Meeting - Then it was confirmed that Vice President, Team Secretary and SJFA/ NRJFA Correspondent, Doug Grant had resigned. Doug's expertise with team registrations was second to none and his services will be so badly, missed. Doug joined Culter's Committee at our AGM in June 1987 for the start of our Junior FA membership. His service also included a spell as our Trainer (First Aid). On the other hand, we welcomed forthcoming new Team Secretary Kenny Henderson to the daunting task.

Middler Memorial: We were pleased to welcome local lad Ronnie Middler to our Season-end Social. Ronnie, who now resides in Spain, is one of our Honorary Vice Presidents and also attended our AGM before which he presented us with a Memorial Bench in memory of his wife, Margaret.
