WRI

MEMBERS of the WRI have had a varied first half of their year.

• We started off in September with Ann Wakefield showing us some of her many journeys by the means of beautiful slides.

• In October we had an interesting Craft Display from Mrs Brenda Stewart with several members trying their hands at making things.

• Another slide show in November brought the work of the Deep Sea Fishermen's Mission to our attention and gave us an insight into the many aspects of their outreach.

• December, of course, was our trip to the Irvine Arms where an excellent Christmas meal was served. This rounded off the session for us.

We resumed in January when Joyce Cowie demonstrated Lace Work. It was a fascinating evening enjoyed by all.

• At our meeting in February, Mr Don Carney is going to talk all about the Doric. (This will happen before you read this!)

• In March, we have Ms Ann Douglas from `Hearing Dogs for the Deaf'.

• April is our Business Meeting.

• In May we hope to have a `Taste and Try' evening when members will be providing various titbits - or more.

• We finish off our session with an Evening Outing in June.

New members will be made very welcome. We meet on the lst Thursday of the month (excluding July and August) in the Play Group Room of the Village Hall.
