FIRST of all, let me wish you
all a belated Happy New Year. I celebrated the `bells' in an
interview room at Queen Street Police Office. Suffice to say I was found
not guilty, but I trust you all had a better introduction to 2006 than I
had.
I('s been a fairly quiet period
in Culter since Santa departed but there are still a few things causing
concern. There have been four recent break-ins to Garages in Culter.
-These have been
targeted at garages which contain motorbikes. Many people
take great care to protect their houses from break ins but forget about
their garages or sheds which are even more vulnerable. So, take some
time just to think about these areas and what valuables are contained
within.
As is the fashion over the
festive period, people decorate their houses with Christmas lights and
the like. Unfortunately, some people have decided that this would a
great target to vandalise. There have been several incidents of this
nature in the local area. Remember that a lot of people put a fair bit
of time and money into these displays and many people get a lot of
enjoyment from them.
No doubt, in the next few
months, climatic conditions will prevail and we will have a number of
snowfalls. This undoubtedly will lead to a number of calls regarding
snowballs being thrown at people or windows. Just so you all know, this
can be a Breach of the Peace and people caught doing this will be
getting charged, so you have been warned.
Enough of my ramblings. On a
positive note, Culter still has one of the lowest crime rates in the
city so let's keep it that way for 2006.
