WE have
several staff changes to report. New members of our reception team are
Mrs Alison Lynch, Mrs Fiona Forsyth and Mrs Lin Gallagher; we are
delighted to welcome them to the Culter practice. Mrs Pamela Hudson
retired in December after 13 years' service, and Mrs Sybil Wilkie
retired in January after 5 years in reception - both have been stalwarts
of the reception team and we wish them both well for likely busy and
active retirements.
Dr Linda
Grant, our GP assistant over the past years, retires at the end of
February. Dr Grant has, in addition to her general caseload, developed
the practice diabetes service to a high standard and has also been in
charge of supervising the publicity/health promotion material which you
see displayed around the health centre. We wish her a long and happy
retirement with her husband and hope the plans for travel are a big
success.
Dr Susan Lee
has returned to work after her maternity leave, working three sessions
per week with us. It has indeed been a time of change for the practice!
The previously
mentioned computer upgrade plans at the practice have been delayed
somewhat while some teething problems are addressed, but this is likely
to be taking place in the summer. I will include a further update on
this in the next edition of the Courier.
We have
obviously been mindful of the publicity regarding epidemic `flu and the
avian `flu scare, but so far this season true `flu cases have NOT been
high in number. I suspect this reflects the relative success of the
annual vaccination programme.
Best wishes
Dr Douglas Harris
