Culter Football Club

Grill Glory: Culter won the Grill League Cup for the first time and the Champagne celebrations at the end showed it. Culter beat pre-match favourites Formartine United 2-0 at Heathryfold on Sunday 20 November 22005 thanks to second half goals from Peter Stewart and Dave Calder.

Dinner Delight: Culter's 20th Celebrity Dinner on Friday 11 November 2005 again was held in the Dyce Skean Dhu, the same venue since our initial Dinner on Monday 14th April 1986. For his 20th time, organiser Eric Duncan masterminded the function, ably assisted by Doug Milne and Doug Jamieson, whilst Margaret Davidson excelled in controlling the Dinner's financial transactions. President Doug Jamieson made a fine introductory speech and Gordon Morrison surpassed himself with an amazing Grace! Guest Speaker Jimmy Nicholl, Raconteur John McKelvie and Compere Peter Mitchell did us proud.

Local Letdown:   Our application for the use of the Peterculter Sports Centre indoor training for winter period from January to March was again unsuccessful.

Chris' Christening: Chris Ogboke joined our squad from Shepperton United, Melbourne, Australia. Chris started with a bang on Guy Fawkes day scoring with his first kick of the ball when he came on as a second half substitute to equalise against Glentanar at Woodside. Chris made the third goal and scored our fourth one for good measure to win 4-1.

Australian Adventure: On the other hand, we regretted to announce that our prolific goal scorer Neil "Toastie" McRitchie was intending going in the opposite direction from Chris, hoping to leave to spend a year travelling in Australia. Neil left in November but things did not work out for him and we welcomed him back in late December.

Table Toppers: In the first game of December, Culter climbed back to the top of the Superleague by beating Banks o' Dee 2-0 at home and remain there at time this article was written.

Duncan's Day: Congratulations go to player Duncan Ord on his marriage to Tracy on December l Oth. Their Wedding Party took place in the Tor-na-Coille Hotel, Banchory.

Past-times Picture- 20 Years Ago.     President of the Aberdeenshire Amateur FA, George Stephen, receives the PJ Stuart Memorial Shield from Margaret Davidson, grand-daughter of Pat who presented his first shield to George Stephen in 1973. The presentation took place at our Annual Dinner-Dance and annual trophies and awards at the Red Star Inn, Skene, in June 1986.
