Rotary Club Of AberdeenDEESIDE District 1010, Scotland North No. 1880 SERVICE Above Self The Rotary Club of Aberdeen Deeside continues to grow and serve. We now have 37 men and women from all professions and business backgrounds, but with a common interest of "SERVICE Above Self'. Rotary is an opportunity for us to `put something back' into our community (both local and national) and throughout the world. We have a strong fellowship which helps us to raise funds and give practical aid where requested to charities or local groups. Activities include • Mock Interviews for S6 pupils, • an inter-Primary School Quiz (won not only at local level but also at district level by Culter this year!), • involvement at Culter Gala • welcome meeting for some newly arrived international students at RGU. Our fundraisers include a Painting Demonstration Evening, a Ceilidh Dance, our annual Fun-Run or Walk, Primary schools' Disco for the PSs, P6s and P7s held in Aberdeen. We have regular friends and partners evenings and promote the Family of Rotary. The most important attributes we look for in prospective members is a willingness • to develop acquaintance as an opportunity for service • to promote high ethical standards in business and professions • to advance international understanding, peace and goodwill • and to have fun and fellowship in so doing. We meet each Wednesday at Cults Hotel - 6.15pm for 6.45pm; and meetings include a meal followed by a speaker or other activity and finish around 8.30pm. If you would care to come along some Wednesday, please contact me (or any Rotarian) and I will be delighted to welcome you along as a guest.
