Peterculter Golf Club

WE have come to the end of another very successful summer season for Peterculter Golf Club (PGC).

Winter golf starts in November and both members and visitors are welcome to come and enjoy the course when it is not raining or snowing! The views of the hills and the river Dee are quite spectacular on crisp clear days. We hope to stay on the summer greens as much as possible, but frost will dictate the use of temporary greens and the course may be closed early morning until the frost has lifted a little.

As usual, the greens staff will be busy on a fairly extensive programme of work on the course to ensure that it is in tip top condition for next year.

On the social side, I'd like to remind members of:

• Friday 25th November - the first quiz

night of the winter (sign up sheet is on the social notice board);

• Saturday 10th December - Christmas party/disco (tickets available from the bar)

• Monday 2nd January - the hangover golf game and entertainment.

We are also holding a Burns/Haggis, Neeps and Tatties Supper on Saturday 21st January so make a note of that date. We are changing the format slightly so that it is less formal, with no speeches as such, and a Ceilidh disco instead of a band. This way we hope to keep the costs down a bit.

We have a short waiting list for membership of the club, so if you are interested in joining, please visit the club house, or our web site for more information. It is possible that you would be offered membership in March 2006 if you add your name to the list now.

We'd like to take this opportunity to wish all our members a happy Christmas and a prosperous, successful New Year both on and off the golf course.

For more information about the club, you can visit the website, www.petercultergolfclub.co.uk or go up to the club and see for yourself.
