Deeside ChoristersCHOIR Camp 2005 We like to look forward not back. But we have reports from the Isle of Cumbrae that: •There were no jellyfish this year •Everyone rode bikes and some surprisingly fast •The choir acquitted itself well at evensong in the Cathedral of the Isles •The talent show gave some promise for our stage plans next year... What more can we say except, Ailsa was definitely a singing person, not an island... and Matt Duncan made a recording of the service. Choirs have birthdays too "A good time was had by all" at Pluscarden Abbey where we sang Evensong and took the opportunity to cut a cake to celebrate our thirtieth birthday. As ever, we were made most welcome by the Abbot and Friars of the Abbey. They allowed us to record the occasion on video tape for the benefit of absent friends. AGM The most important decisions reached by this year's AGM on 28th September were to confer the title of Director Emeritus on our outgoing Musical Director, Dr Malcolm Love and to appoint Mr Neil Cathmoir as Director of Music. Dr Love has been forced through ill health to relinquish the post he has held for all thirty years of the choir's existence and it goes without saying that he will be greatly missed. Our appreciation of all that he has done has been put on record. He has been given tremendous support from his wife, Muriel, over the years and we thank her for her continued efforts.
