Culter Football ClubCommittee Changes: We regret to report the departure of two Committee members - long serving Alex Irvine, former Team Captain, Team Manager, Trainer Coach with a variety of other roles; then Grant Home, latterly Pavilion Convener. On the other hand, we welcomed back Ian "Kip" McKenzie after a two year break during which he continued in the capacity of Match Reporter. Playing Pool: There also have been changes in our playing staff. We were joined by Colin Robertson (ex Peterhead), Gordon Farmer rejoined us from Huntly and Martin Shand, son of former Culter player Graham, was transferred from fellow Junior side Stonehaven. Greg Davidson who had played for us since 2000/01 was transferred to FC Stoneywood. Record Result: Culter won 17-0 against Whitehills, at Whitehills, in the InterRegional Cup on 10 September, our record result since joining the Junior FA. Early Exit: Culter was knocked out of the Scottish Cup in the 1 st Round, losing 4-3 to Broughty Athletic in a game we should have won. Culter was ahead three times at a gusty Crombie Park before the visitors went ahead to seal a dramatic win.
Formartine Final: Culter reached the Final of the Grill League Cup for the first time by beating Banchory St Ternan 1-0 in a closely contested Semi Final. Culter now meets Formartine United in the Final at Heathryfold on Sunday 20 November 2005 with a 1 p.m. kick off. Dinner Date: Our 20th Celebrity Dinner takes place in the customary venue, the Dyce Skean Dhu on 11 November. Guest Speaker will be Jimmy Nicoll, Aberdeen FC Assistant Manager; Comedian/ Speaker will be John McKelvie whilst once again the Compere will be Peter Mitchell. 25 Years Ago: Culter FC's new pavilion at Crombie Park was opened on 5 October 1980 with a visit from Scottish Premier Division Champions - Aberdeen. The late Chris Anderson, vice-chairman of both the Dons and the Scottish Sports Council, made the official opening. Culter lost 40 to an Aberdeen XI which included four first team squad members, but were not disgraced. Pictured is Dons Manager Alex Ferguson making his speech with Chris Anderson on his right.
