Guiding in Culter

MANY female readers will have received a letter from Girl Guiding Scotland asking if they had thought of the different ways they could be involved in Guiding. Aberdeen was selected for a pilot scheme in the ongoing drive for more adult help in the movement.

At this present time in Culter we still need help with our Guide Unit. If you have a skill that you could share with the girls, the Guiders would love to hear from you, or if you could help the Guiders with the routine paperwork and take that pressure off, it would allow them more time with the Guides.

Our Rainbow unit is also looking for more help as they have recently lost two Guiders. (One lucky young Guider is away travelling for a year.)

I have been involved with Guiding for many years now and though the uniforms have changed several times and the programmes have been changed, the ethos of

Guiding remains the same, and the fun the girls have remains the same. But unless we get more adult help there will be fewer girls ever year getting that chance.

How many of you remember the fun of Guide Camp/Brownie Pack Holiday or getting that first badge? We would welcome more adult help in Culter so we can "Carry on Guiding".
