There was a break before the annual Summer Camp at
the Lebhall near Ballater. The boys' week started off in pretty dramatic
fashion when, on the first full day, during a hike round Loch Muick,
Andrew Thomson fell and broke his arm! Being almost half way round, it
took almost an hour for someone to reach a phone and call for an
ambulance.
It was another 2 hours until the mountain rescue ambulance got him back
to the car park and a further hour to reach ARI. He's now in plaster for
the rest of the holidays. The very next day, Visitors' Day, during the
dads v boys football game, one of the dads, Mr. D. Ross also broke his
arm going for a spectacular overhead kick! He is in plaster, too, for a
while. Thankfully the rest of the camp went by with no more injuries and
being good weather the boys really enjoyed themselves. The highlight of
the week was an afternoon at the Deeside Activity Park where the boys
took part in archery, air rifle shooting, quad biking and ended with a
race on the go-karts. Thanks to the "Friends of the 47th" fund raising
team who paid for this. The new marquee and barbecue, which they also
provided, were put to good use during the camp.
Boys' Brigade will
re-start on lst September and we hope to see everybody back for the new
session. New members are welcome. We meet on most Thursday nights
between September and May. The different sections are:
