CULTER MILLS BOWLING CLUB
WE start a new season with a challenge to repeat last year's outstanding successes. Highlights included June Burnett's tremendous achievement in winning the Aberdeen Ladies' Champion of Champions' for the second time.
In July a large following of Culter supporters turned out en masse by coach and cars to Inverurie to support our two teams that had reached the Scottish District Finals. They were not disappointed by the display from our 'Fours' and 'Seniors' teams - the 'Fours' reaching the finals at Ayr. Our Ladies also did well in winning the 'Fours' in the ADLBA finals held on our own green.
Finally, we regained Friday Bonaccord League Championship by the narrowest of margins. (Particularly pleasing having made such a poor start.) High celebrations in the form of a karaoke followed!
Whilst promoting our Club as highly successful and competitive this is only part of the scene. We have a very friendly and sociable membership and are looking for new members - experienced or not. We have enjoyable friendly fixtures as well as afternoon and evening Hat nights. Heather Bisset has asked that anybody interested should contact her.
Finally we are having a Coffee Morning/Sale of Work on Saturday 15 May at Culter Social Club (Small Hall), to which everyone is welcome.
